Psalm 17 - Juliano - Prayer

Psalm 17

4-5
I'm not trying to get my way
in the world's way.
I'm trying to get your way,
your Word's way.
I'm staying on your trail;
I'm putting one foot
In front of the other.
I'm not giving up.

6-7
I call to you, God, because I'm sure of an answer.
So-answer! bend your ear! listen sharp!
Paint grace-graffiti on the fences;
take in your frightened children who
Are running from the neighborhood bullies
straight to you.

One thing I realize is that I haven't been asking God for specific things.
Most of the time I tend to take things on face value, and be okay with it.
But I don't think that should be the case.
I can't let myself be completely numb, and just accept things the way they are.
That's the most challenging thing. Also something that became crooked in our culture.

But I need to make my desire and wants known to God, and request them.
Whether God answers them is up to Him, but it is something I need to be in the habit of more and more doing.

Perhaps I needed to stop doing that at a previous season. Where I saw God as a wishing fountain.
But now that I feel a better relationship has been stablished, God wants to hear my wants and desires again.
I mean. He knows. He knows the things in my heart even before I ask them.
But there's that happens when we ask for them. Whether it makes aware of what God answers in our lives.
It shows where our hearts are to God. Or it is simply a bond connection between you and the Father.

So I come here Lord, to make my desires known.
I will write them in faith. So that they will be etched in my heart as well.

I need you to help me with the school application. Help me to keep the fire. Help me to keep inspired.
Help me to remember constantly why I am doing this. Help me to enjoy the process, rather than resent it.
Give me strength Lord. Keep my body and mind healthy. Help me to understand when I need to rest, and when I need to be pushed.
Give me wisdom on how to manage my time, resources, and how to finish this process.

Grant me peace Lord, may I not give in to anxiety, and react in a way that is not from you.

Protect me. Protect when I drive. Protect my car. May my commutes be a sanctuary. A praying tent for you.
Where I can worship, intercede, and be with you.

Provide for my family. Provide for my grandpa. If he has to go, I pray Lord that you do so peacefully and painlessly.
Give peace to my mom and grandma, for they are so tired. I pray Lord that you will be with my family.
Provide with healing, a proper time to mourn and be sorrowful. May this situation end up being positive rather than negative.

May my heart not grow numb. May my heart not grow so self concetrated. Provide me with a helper Lord.
I have knocked on this door so many times, and I will keep on knocking.
Provide me with a wife. May she be beautiful. Both inside and out. May we get along well.
May we understand each other. Share similar interests. May we be able to have so much fun together.
May she be funny, smart, and a Holy woman of God. Who is teacheable and also yielding to you and your ways.
May she give me life. And a crown on my head. A gift from you.
May I redeem my family through her.

Just as Michelle Obama said to Barack Obama. You are only president because of me. May she be a woman of great strength like that.
The things that await ahead are not be taken lightly, and it won't be easy. I need as the Old Testament described 'helper'. A military general, commander.
I need that kind of assistance in my life.

I also need you to keep things afloat Lord. Keep my finances aflloat. Provide me with scholarships ! Something to show your favor on me and this quest.
I'm taking ALL OF THIS IN FAITH, Lord RESPOND TO MY CAUSE. I'm RESPONDING TO YOU. YOU NEED TO SHOW YOURSELF TOO.
FILL THE END OF YOUR BARGAIN. I CANNOT DO IT ON MY OWN. PROVIDE LORD.

PROVIDE WITH SCHOLARSHIPS. PROVIDE WITH CLIENTS WHO CAN HELP ME AS I'M GOING WITH SCHOOL. MAY I ALWAYS HAVE ENOUGH LORD.
MAY I NOT WORRY. PROTECT MY SAVINGS FOR A RING AT THE VERY LEAST. I DO NOT WISH TO USE THAT. May you provide with enough.

May you protect my friendships and relationships. May I not be isolated during this season. May friends understand my season, but also provide times where I can fellowship with them. PROTECT MY SUNDAYS. Let no classes come and touch my sundays. I pray Lord that I will always have Sundays protected. So i can come to your house weekly, worship, and provide my offerings.

Protect my immediate family in the process. May you keep healing them. May you keep them at peace. I pray Lord that you protect them. Protect their finances. I pray Lord that they will get closer and closer to you. May they get to know you and walk with you. Protect them from harm. Physical, Mental, and Spiritual. Keep them healthy and safe. So when the time comes, you can bring us together again.

Lastly, keep inspiring me Lord. Give me dreams. Give me visions. Share me your heavenly stories. Be there in times I create. May your fingerprints be all over my work. May people experience You and your Kingdom through my work. May it bring healing. May it break foundations. May it be an invitation to meet You. May it change lives. All of which I cannot accomplish on my own. Use me Lord. I'm giving my all, just as the woman with the Alabaster Jar.

Keep the fire going. All of this, I offer to you. May it be a reminder for me too.

Psalm 15 - SL

Psalm 15 - Righteous Manners v.2 "He who walks blamelessly ... and speaks truth in his heart..." v.4 "in whose eyes a vile person is despised..." v.5 "...He who does these things shall never be moved." A short psalm that speaks truth into what it takes to dwell on God's Holy Hill - or as I have put it - a psalm that speaks to righteous manners. This was a short list of Does and Does Nots, and then ends with a factual saying the one who acts in these ways won't be moved from that holy place. It was both a good refresher to read and fairly hard to digest because I don't pass the standards that I want to be passing. I know I don't walk blamelessly, and as much as I can put a check-mark on many of the other aspects, I am not satisfied - and I will not be satisfied/complacent - with not realizing a full and fruitful lifestyle. It's been easier for me to be okay with certain actions and thought processes because I am yoked by people w...

Psalm 12 - Juliano

Psalm 12 6 And the words of the Lord are flawless, like silver purified in a crucible, like gold refined seven times. Even though it was not the point of the psalm, this passage really stood out to me. I had received an imagery like this before a long time ago. During one of the Ekklesias years ago, someone had a word for me like this before I went to start art school. That God would polish me like gold. I had an idea of what that meant, but it does seem to carry more meaning now. My younger self thought that I "already experienced all". That "what else can I experience that is new?". Unconciously that is. That's when the part it says "gold refined seven times" stood out to me. Realizing that refinement it's not a one go process. My sort of personality likes to get the hard part stuff first out of the way. And I always felt like going through the hard process for the "investment of the future" was always the right move. T...

Psalm 15

who keeps an oath  even when it hurts,      and does not change their mind; 5  who lends money to the poor without interest;      who does not accept a bribe  against the innocent. ------ Shucks, I missed the deadline... Got caught up with some business that kept me out until now.. sigh... anyways... In light of today's message, I feel like this is super powerful. For me, the hardest part has been the keeping an oath part. I was the one who always tried to look out for myself, even if that meant sometimes not keeping my word. It's funny though because it's not like they were blatant betrayals, but like Sung said, some of those sticky situations where I'd have to ask "well, is this really that serious?" Today's message I think helps us become more like the traits the Psalmist wrote. Having a holistic view of redemption and what the Cross means for us will better equip us with the tools to live the way the Psalmist said. ---- L...
