Psalm 24
Who may ascend the mountain of the Lord?
Who may stand in His holy place?
The one who has clean hands and a pure heart,
who has not set his mind on what is false,
and who has not sworn deceitfully.
He will receive blessing from the Lord,
and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
Such is the generation of those who seek Him,
who seek the face of the God of Jacob.
This might sound weird, but this might be one of the few times I'm reading this in a positive light.
As if this passage was being applied to myself. This I feel every Christian should be able to read this as own it.
Believe it that this word is being spoken to them.
For a long time I just couldn't do that. I had a hard time seeing myself as God saw me.
Took me many years to understand that I am cherished and a child of God. Dare say even righteous, even though I can easily point out all of the flaws in my character.
As I read this, I felt God's blessing on me.
As if my soul started to finally fully accept God's identity on me.
Now I read this psalm siding the righteous, rather than thinking I was part of the wicked portion.
It might not seem like a big deal but it is to me. Praise be to God !
Thank you Jesus. Thank you that you give your eyes.
That we are able to see from your lens. Oh how we are loved by you Jesus.
Renew my strength in You. Cast away all of my anxieties.
In Your name I pray.
Amen.
